I am a strong believer in the value of a decentralized food system….keep it local and diversified. Corporate farming is dangerous to our future.
Also, we must preserve farm land from development: avoid building on it at all costs!

Victory gardens are a lost art. My granddad ALWAYS had a garden and he was good at it. We lived ‘on the place’ as it was said and I did a lot to help with the garden. BUT, I have forgotten it all. I now have space for a huge garden and only have a small one. This comment has made me double think what I should be doing with my time. I currently plant strawberries, tomatoes and peppers. I plan to do better next year and even better the year after. We are on the downslope of the prosperous years and now is the time to learn the skills required to sustain yourself without work.
